Panasonic TH-50PX77U has similar design features like its smaller version, 42 TH-42PX77U. The wide screen is surrounded by a rectangular, black frame with two speakers placed on either side of the TV, making this wide screen TV look a bit wider. Both the TVs have glossy screens which are coated with anti-glare substance that ensure glare-free display in ambient conditions.

Panasonic TH-50PX77U has a native resolution of 1,366×768 pixels. However, it can accept SDTV, DVD and all HDTV formats (480p/720p/1080i/1080p) and make them to fit the screen by its scaling techniques. Its video processor is capable of producing more than 29 billion colours which can rival the real world by its naturalness, colour accuracy and gradation. This 50 wide screen TH-50PX77U supports a contrast level of 10000:1 and achieves better black levels than its smaller version TH-42PX77U and the details in the dark background are accurate and the glare-proof screen, like its smaller version, is an added advantage in ambient light conditions.
There are five aspect ratios available for viewing HDTV while four aspect ratios can be used for viewing non-HDTV video materials. There are various options available with regard to tuning the contrast, brightness and other picture settings. In addition, you can choose the best out of the three colour-temperature presets available with this unit.
This larger version of PX77U series has many input options to offer. There are 2 HDMI inputs for connecting DVD or HDTV channels. In addition, you get a NTSC tuner to access SDTV analog signals. The in-built ATSC/QAM tuners process SDTV or HDTV signals to present you with enhanced picture details.
The audio features provided in this TV, like 42 PX77U, are quite impressive with its digital 3-D audio qualities. The noise reduction feature also sounded better and smoother while we played pictures of full brightness. In the same way, the 2:3 pull down feature ensured that the artifacts are completely removed while depicting some fast movements on the screen.

Panasonic TH-42PX77U is one of the two HDTV Plasma TV series that were rolled out by Matshuita Electrical Co in the early 2007. This gleaming, black framed TV is one of the finest designs ever created by Panasonic for its Plasma Television sets. The speakers are placed on either side of the TV, making it a bit wider, but well fit into the overall design. What is unique about the glossy screen is that it is glare resistant thanks to the coating of anti-glare substance. On the bottom of the panel, you can find adjustment switches for S-video and SD card slot. Overall, the Panasonic TH-42PX77U can impress anybody with its elegant design features.
