Samsung Electronics has dominated the world scenario in is technical competency in the manufacture of a variety of electronics goods. Its television sets are a splendid combination of style and technological excellence, which is why my friend decided to purchase one of its TV sets.
Distinct features
The Samsung PS-42C7HD Plasma TV has lived up to expectations. It is a 42” plasma TV, whose sound effects are astounding compared to many other models. It uses surround sound with special stereo effects by SAP/MTS. It is a chic black piece though I hear there is also a silver one on offer.
It is HDTV ready though it needs a separate receiver for accepting HDTV signals. It has a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. It has the 16:3 image ratio which is the standard for the new generation of home theatre sets. The images produced are extra sharp and clear with a brightness of 1300 cd/m2 and adjustable colour temperature.
It has 1 tuner that uses NTSC, PAL and SECAM standards of video broadcasting. Access to Freeview channels is provided. The broadcast format that is displayed is through 720p (HDTV), 480p (EDTV) and 480i (SDTV). 480p is a progressive scan method used by Enhanced Definition Television or EDTV. EDTV, one of the biggest steps taken in recent times to enhance image sharpness on large screens is closer in quality to the much awaited and hyped HDTV. This TV also supports 1080i (HDTV), 720p (HDTV), 480p (EDTV), 480i (SDTV), 576p and 576i which include requisites of HDTVs.
The powerful audio output is through 2 stereos of 10 watts each. The facility to view multiple channels is available.
As regards connectors, it has 1 HDMI, 2 21pin SCART, 1 DVI, 1 Composite, 1 Audio (RCA) among others, providing ample connectivity. It also has 1 S-Video, 1 Composite and 1 Audio (RCA) front input connectors and 1 DVI and optical digital rear output connectors.
There is a headphone jack and parental control incorporated in it. It is slightly heavy with a weight of 45.9 kg. It has a height of 71.3 cm, a depth of 10.3 cm and a width of 105.5 cm.
I must say the Samsung PS-42C7HD Plasma TV is worth buying because of its impressive audio performance and satisfying visuals.

I like its sound effects with integrated speakers. Also it has the secam tuner for best WOW effect, weights a little, with black colour body. Moreover the screen is 42� inch wide with excellent resolution. The height of this plasma is quite normal; this is one of the best made.
Advantage:
1. Admirable design.
2. Enhanced sound system.
3. Image sharpness.
Disadvantage:
1. weight
I was searching for this for a long time in the net to find a plasma TV that suits my taste. Samsung is like my dream come true! This device has astounding features and functions, easy to fix and operate.
bought this plasma 2 years back, great viewing especially when connected with the sky hd box, great sound with it too. all in all a great buy!! would definately recommend….
