Samsung is one of the very few display makers who scrutinize persistently to release displays with good design, high performance and at rational prices too. Samsung’s latest 50” widescreen model is Samsung PN50A650 1080p Full HD Plasma TV. This 50” display has 1920 X 1080 pixels, the highest display resolution possible presently, and has DNIe pro technology that enhances the image quality considerably. Samsung has incorporated many additional picture enhancement features like ultra bright filter, anti-glare filter, video noise reduction, digital noise reduction etc and the most significant one is Digital Natural Image enhancement engine. Touch of Colour, an innovative step in the design, gives a wine red tinge to the edges of the plasma, which makes it look exceptionally good just like a beautiful young girl blushing.
Progressive scanning, another remarkable feature that helps to augment the image quality compliments the enhancement features very well. Burn-in is one of the most common bugbear for most of the Plasmas. Now, in this display, Samsung has introduced Pixel shift and anti-burn-in technologies to rectify any such problems and also to reduce the image retention and signal ghosting. The mighty dynamic contrast ratio of this screen is 1,000,000:1, which give razor-sharp images with vividness. The 650 series displays are mid-line displays from Samsung, but never underestimate that the picture quality and performance is also in a mediocre level. This screen is as good as most of the high-end overpriced plasma televisions from various reputed brands.
The viewing angle, an important factor that plays important role in viewing comfort, is as wide as 175degrees. The image aspect ratio of Samsung PN50A650 50” widescreen Plasma TV is 16:9. The audio system incorporated in this telly is excellent with SRS TruSurround Technology, stereo sound output mode with audio levelling and has two speakers that render an output power of 20W. The added advantage of the audio system in this display includes balance control and auto volume adjustments. This screen features PIP, Teletext, 60Hz frequency, 24p playback etc are also present .The A-one connectivity offered by this display includes 4 HDMI connections, composite connections, headphone sockets, VGA interface, USB, audio line-in , audio line-out, etc. However the power requirement of this TV is as high as 550W in operational mode, you have to be careful about the impact it may make in the power bill.
