However, experts reveal that the sluggish broadband speed may ruin the online widget experience availed in many of the top-end televisions.

LG Electronics has announced their plans to incorporate ARM processor into their upcoming web-integrated televisions, also known as widget televisions. However, Jim Wallace, the ARM personnel expressed that the performance of Widget Televisions are likely to be hampered due to the poor broadband speeds in UK.

Wallace added that he believes in “the faster the better” ideology when it comes to the broadband connection. As per Wallace, 10Mbps is optimal for the internet connected television sets, especially while watching the HD content via internet. He also pointed out that 2Mbps broadband speed cannot be considered as a fast connection any more.
