The World’s first 42 inches Plasma TV with full HDTV features

April 24, 2007

Matshuita Electrical Co (Panasonic) which has carved a niche for itself in the plasma TV industry, recently unveiled its plans to roll out the worlds first 42 flat panel Plasma TV with full HDTV features. The new model will be capable of displaying pictures of resolution 1080p or 1920×1080 pixels, the highest resolution that a HDTV featured display can have. So far, only the larger versions of plasma TV (50 and above) usually have this feature.

The uniqueness of this forthcoming model lies in the fact that it can compete with the LCDs in terms of resolution and size. So far, among the TVs available in the section of smaller models, only LCDs could achieve the full HDTV resolution.

In the past, there were many technical difficulties as well as high cost factors involved in manufacturing the smaller versions of Plasma TVs (42 or below) with full HDTV features. This made the makers of Plasma TVs in the past to shun this very idea of going into this venture.

The new Plasma TV will be launched in Japan in the last week of April and will have a price tag around $3500. You can also make a comparison of prices and find Plasma TV Offers of various Plasma TV models in our website.

Panasonic is the leading manufacturer of Plasma TVs in the world. The company has sold more than 4 million 42 plasma during the last year ended on March 31 based on the financial report. Panasonic hopes the proposed product will significantly boost the sales of 42 Plasma TVs which is expected to grow twice after the new plasma TV hits the market.
