It is reported that Teletext, the good old news service is going to be pulled out of the television sets by 2010. Teletext was the information service established in 1973, and for the past 17 years it kept so many viewers informed about the events going around, weather, sports, TV schedules, etc.

Online invasion in the news services axed the popularity of this television service to a great extent. It is said that Daily Mail & General Trust, the parent company of Teletext services has revealed that they are planning to close down this loss-making service two years ahead the schedule.

Daily Mail & General Trust officials has made it clear that they are being after the business travel sites rather than these news and info service. The switching off of this news service is putting 70 jobs at risk.
