CISPR, the international standards committee that is responsible for EMC has recently launched an information gathering campaign that is specifically started to determine the seriousness of interference from the plasma TV receivers.
National standards organisation was initially asked for data and Regulator, Ofcom was contacted by BSI in the UK.
When asked about the number of complaints registered so far, Ofcom mentioned that they received complaints ranging from numbers 12 to 15 only.
The RSGB EMC Committee over the last few years have received complaints from members in large numbers but said that there was no recording system. Hence it is now your turn to extend help in giving information if you have suffered or suffering from interference from a plasma TV.
An email has to be sent to plasma.tv<at>rsgb.org.uk
RSGB EMC committee requires only the number of interference cases but no other details or names/addresses. Any information about the interference has to be sent at the earliest due to limitation of time.
