Samsung has reclaimed the title of the world’s thinnest LED TV, quite dramatically, by showcasing a prototype of the 3.9 mm thickness (or is it thin!) 40 inches LED TV. This amazing slimness of 3.9 mm works out to shaving off a whopping and wholesome 2mm in full from LG, its nearest rival. This new “Needle Slim” design LED TV uses the newly invented innovative edge lighting technology which is based on an optical film process of manufacture that spreads light behind the screen all over evenly.
Samsung proclaims that this new technology works by gathering light towards the screen centre and by reflecting it forward via the light guide plate for the ultimate precision. This LED TV is not only quite sleek and stylish in its looks with an ultra slim profile, but it also has performance levels and standards that is really excellent with features such as a resolution of Full HD, a contrast ratio of 5000:1 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Kudos to Samsung for its 40 Incher, the World’s slimmest 3.9 mm LED TV.
