Pioneer’s plasma legacy has been inherited by Panasonic. It was on the cards for quite some time now, experts saw it coming and finally it has born fruit in the shape of Panasonic’s Viera G2 Plasma TVs. Pioneer, well known for its legendary KURO Plasma TVs, lost a fortune on almost every screen they sold and finally decided to wind up their Plasma TV business in 2009. However, hope remained for Pioneer through its technology sharing agreement with Panasonic, to be reborn in a different form.
Panasonic-Pioneer hybrid Plasma TV is a unique combination of Panasonic’s NeoPDP system and Pioneer’s Fuga technology resulting in the Panasonic Viera G2 Plasma TV. This hybrid Plasma TV boasts of features such as ultra black screen, high quality detailed images, a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, in-built sensors, 30% reduced power consumption, good connectivity and more. Panasonic’s Viera G2 Plasma TVs will be available in 42, 46 and 50 inch models with a choice of silver, brown and black bezels at launch in February 2010.
