LED TVs and OLED TVs appear to hog the headlines at this year’s show, the IFA 2009. In TV marketing, the LED TV term seems to be the key phrase. In fact, scores of flat panel TVs have begun to adorn this badge. An LED TV is lit by LEDs. It may either be around the TV border, as in the case of LED TVs that are edge-lit or it may be behind the panel, as in the case of LED TVs that are back lit.
LED TVs are the Light Emitting Diode ones. The other, though, is the OLED TVs which stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode ones. We also have a third category, the AMOLED TVs which is the Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode ones. LG has showcased the first in the business 15 inch OLED TV. Though scheduled for a 2010 spring launch in the UK, it has not been priced yet. This OLED TV has a stunning picture quality. Upon launch it might be the largest available OLED TV to buy in the market. And more, LG has divulged that it may come out with AMOLED TVs of 30 Inches in the market by 2012.
