A billion:one contrast ratio plasma TV has been designed by LG, called LG 50PQ60D Plasma TV, apart from a 42” plasma TV with a refresh rate of 600 Hz, called LG 42PQ60D Plasma TV. The sets come with ambient light sensors that, according to LG would help in reducing energy consumption and USB ports for playing a range of high definition formats, including mkv formats.

The latter advanced plasma TV model tends to repeat an input of 50Hz, twelve times on display to achieve that remarkable 600Hz refresh rate. Currently, both these models are being sold in Korea and Taiwan, and is expected in the UK markets in the recent future.
