At almost an eye blink, 3D TVs have moved from a novelty realm to the mainstream world. Many TV providers across the world have upped the ante in terms of setting up of dedicated 3D channels this year, 2010. Even though 3D technology as such is not new, the practical adaptation of 3D TVs have been held back over the decades due to many widespread hurdles. And most of such obstacles seem to have been overcome in 2009 with many prototype 3D TVs making appearances at the CES 2009.

Now, with the CES 2010 due in Las Vegas anytime now, consumer electronics manufacturers are expected to display their latest versions of 3D TVs. And commercially, with the profit margins on Plasma TVs and LCD TVs slumping, 3D TVs are expected to fill in the coffers, making it more profitable. But, beware, the cost wary consumer’s thinking may take a little while before investing a premium on 3D TV. There is good news though, following AVATAR, more and more 3D movies are on the anvil along with an increase in 3D TV content in the TV market and the 3D compatible devices.
