Panasonic, the Plasma TV Giant, has made clear its plans to invest quite heavily in energy saving and solar power technologies for equipping buildings and homes, as its principal business motive by the year 2012. Some of this technology will be gained from the take over of Sanyo, and Panasonic’s own systems and inventions as well. Panasonic’s paradigm shift from the consumer electronics business coincides with the overall worldwide move towards more and more energy efficient technologies.
Following closely on the heels is the Copenhagen meet in which close to 200 countries are actively participating, the prime topic of discussion of being the cutting and reducing of green house gas emissions and global warming issues too. Panasonic feels that wherever you turn, consumers in developing as well as developed markets are evincing serious interest in environmental products. Panasonic is yet to finalise the distribution and cost of energy management systems and work out the overall sales that may arise from the new business. Kudos, Panasonic, for going the greener way.
