Following the release of LE700 LED Television series, Sharp has announced that all Sharp displays will be powered with LED backlight systems by 2011. Bob Scaglione, Sharp’s VP(Marketing) says that LED backlit screens are increasing exponentially due to the high efficiency and picture quality.LED Backlight systems are lodged� not only in LCD Televisions, but also in OLED Televisions and Plasma Televisions.

Mr.Scaglione also revealed their plans to adapt LED systems in all the upcoming displays. When asked about the OLED plans of the company, he disclosed that OLED is prohibitive when it comes to the pricing aspects. According to Sharp personnel, although OLED is a good challenger, for the time being LED Televisions are going to reign the market due to its reasonable cost and high efficiency.
