The Pioneer PDP435FDE Plasma TV has a 43”wide flat screen. It being a digital TV, one can be assured of not getting hassled by white patches on the screen as is seen on analogue TV screens. It has the standard image ratio of 16:9 required for home cinema systems. It is HDTV ready and requires another receiver for receiving HDTV signals. It has an impressive brightness of 1100cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 1200:1. The screen resolution is 1024 x 768 pixels. The comb filter is a digital 3 line one. It also has adjustable colour temperature. The combined effect of these features produces image of average quality.
It has a viewing angle of 1600. It enables multiple channels viewing in inset windows with availability of sound only in the main channel.
The sound effects are tremendous with virtual surround sound and SAP/MTS stereo effects with two speakers of 2×13 watts.

The broadcast format displayed is 720p (HDTV) / 480p (EDTV) / 480i (SDTV) and it supports the broadcast format 1080i (HDTV) / 720p (HDTV). 1080i appears to be of the same resolution of 1080p because of interlacing or progressive scanning, even though it has only half of it. But it has double the frame rate of 1080p. It also has more shake than 1080p.
It is provided with 1 HDMI, 1 RF, 1 component and 3 21pin SCART rear input connectors. Front input connectors are 1 Composite, 1 Audio (RCA), 1 S-Video and 1 D-Sub (RGB PC). 1 Audio (RCA), 1 Composite and 1 S-video rear output connectors are present. They provide easy connectivity.
Sleep timer and parental control are other features available. It comes with a headphone jack and a regular remote control.
The Pioneer PDP435FDE Plasma TV is an expensive mediocre visual performer.
