All of us were applauding loudly while unwrapping Mike’s brand-new television. It took nearly half an hour to fix it and settle down. Mike, Ben and Bryan were busy with the calibration process. Josey and me engaged ourselves readying pop corns, bacons and finger fries. After an hour, five membered troupe settled in front of the brand-new LG 42PG60D 42” Plasma Television with chilled Budweiser and smiling face. “Hey guys, how’s my frameless beauty?” Mike was exhilarating while taking a sip of chilled beer. Our cat-calls were changed into surprise when the telly jolted into action in a short span of time.
Quite soon, all of us were glued into the world of wizardry and black magic. Potter was screaming on the top of the voice clutching his scar. The 1024 x 768 pixels display resolution and 1000000:1 contrast ratio goes hand in hand to render above-par picture quality. Pretty decent black levels is another notable feature of this television. The bright screen (1500Cd/m2 brightness) portrays Hogwarts in the realistic way. The detailing rendered by this telly is astounding; you wont believe me, we could feel the blush in Hermione’s cheeks when Krum kissed her hand! However slight taint if the internal screen reflection and the onscreen memory effect can be spotted as the downside of this television.
The audio performance of this 42″ plasma display was pretty decent; 20Watts output power from the two speakers enhanced with SRS Trusurround do a neat job, if you ask me. After the movie, I just glanced through the spec list, and found that the crux of this telly is the Dual XD Engine. The connectivity options offered in this television is appealing with 4 HDMI ver 1.3 inputs, component video connection, composite video connection, S-video, VGA interface, etc. However we were slightly disappointed seeing that the S-Video signal is given priority when both S-video and video connections are plugged in simultaneously. The outcome was pleasing when connected to the gaming console too.
In general, I will vote in LG 42PG60D HD Ready Plasma Television as “Great value for money product from LG.”
