LG trying to gain foothold in the Australian TV Market

February 2, 2010

15_oled-tv_lgLG, the consumer electronics giant, is currently trying to gain a foothold in the Australian TV market, reportedly. In fact, LG Australia is struggling, more or less, to get traction in the flat panel TV market, despite its all new “borderless TV” along with a BMW giveaway promotional offer that runs into millions of dollars. LG is all set to launch its new flat panel TV range along with a 15 inch OLED TV, just about in time for the 2010 world cup, so far.

According to reports, LG is clearly trailing behind Panasonic in the Plasma TV market and Samsung as well as Sony in the flat panel TV market. Insiders in Australia’s large retail industry claim that LG’s flat panel Scarlett TV and its new Borderless TV did not cut ice with the Australian consumers. To make amends, LG has a new promotion in the running, a 32 inch bonus TV offer which the consumers are eligible for, when they buy a LG Plasma TV or a LCD TV.
