The widescreen TV is supported by 1920 x 1080 pixels to offer better display resolution. Aspect and contrast ratio are 16:9 and 5000:1. The new plasma products are compatible with HDTV.
There are still many apprehensions in the minds of consumers about plasma TVs which the manufacturers are trying to answer. It is pointed out that a plasma TV does not require periodical servicing, and there is no need to change plasma once in two years as feared by some people. Similarly there are no serious problems involved in the installation of the appliance. It is a simple process and is hassle free. The manufacturers also assure that plasma TV is not a fragile product. It is as sturdy as any other television set.
In the initial stages of introduction, plasma TV was considered as an expensive one than other types of sets. But the manufacturers have taken effective steps to reduce the cost of production and thus to bring the price level down. This was imperative to meet the challenges in the market. As for excess energy consumption, the plasma TV has now adopted a new phosphorus and cell design technology in order to reduce the same. It is also mentioned that more sophisticated FED and OLED technologies are contemplated to enhance the qualitative superiority of plasma TVs.
The Plasma television sets will retain their superior status as a market leader, if the latest developments are indications to that.
