Pioneer was the unrivalled emperor in Plasma Display Industry, and with the exodus of Pioneer from Plasma display industry the crown is left to the heir and Panasonic is reported to be the next leader in the Plasma display industry. With Pioneer’s exit form plasma display industry, most of the ‘technocrats’ predicted that Plasma Television industry is into its tragic death. Following Pioneer, many other display makers like Vizio, NEC, etc also left the game leaving behind a handful of players to save the industry from the downfall. Panasonic has announced a massive range of Plasma line-ups in CES 2009, that too with ‘greenovation’ techniques incorporated in the displays to make it cost effective and energy efficient.

Christened as Neo-PDP Panels, Panasonic’s new line-ups has been released and is widely accepted too. The Neo PDP panels have double the brightness and contrast compared to its predecessors, which ensures pristine image quality. Don’t be mistaken that the energy consumption is also increased with the added enhancement techniques! The best part of latest Panny line-ups are the energy efficiency. The energy consumption of Neo PDP Panels are 50% less compared to its predecessor, which means the customers are availed of a duo-treat for a single token!

Pioneer, the former commanders in this niche had planned to get the Neo PDP panels for their Plasma Displays, which were the benchmark for comparing the plasma display quality. The picture quality of the new Panasonic displays are almost close to those given by Pioneer Kuro series, with deep blacks and brighter images. The recent plasma additions of Panny are impressive and is far better compared to the previous Panny displays, and the best part about the latest Panny displays is the fact that blacks are no more dark grey! With the reduced power consumption the ‘heat dissipation issue’ is tackled and thinner displays are spawned by Panasonic of late. The Flagship model among the 2009 line-ups Panasonic TC P54Z1 Plasma display is less than an inch thickness which substantiates the tedious research of Panasonic Designers in the plasma display technology.

With the contrast ratio increased from 30,000:1 to 40,000:1, the new Panny additions have THX certified Studio Reference mode too to offer best quality pics especially while watching movies. Though the new Panasonic displays have plethora of features to flaunt about, the number of HDMI inputs is slashed to three while many of the competent display makers offer 5 HDMI inputs. Moreover the number of speakers availed in the recent displays are just two, while four speakers were present in the older models. With the wide range of  “home-theatre in a box” products announced with amazing techniques, Panasonic is all set to be crowned as the next Lord in Plasma Display Industry.
